Who we are …


  • Roseland Women’s Club is a 501c3 nonprofit public charity organization.

  • Roseland Women’s Club is the custodian of the Roseland Community Building.

  • Our club focuses on strengthening our community by hosting events that educate our local women on matters of health, nature, history, altruism, and community relations.

  • An annual fundraiser is held and proceeds are donated to local charities.

  • Meetings are held from September through May on the first Wednesday of the month. (See events page)

Roseland Community Building


  • The Roseland Community Building is located on the St. Sebastian River.

  • It was built by Roseland Women’s Club in 1929

  • A concrete block addition was completed in 1959.

  • The structure was leveled and renovated in 2017/2022.

  • In addition to providing a setting for our various club activities, the Roseland Community Building is available to rent for individuals and groups for meetings, classes, and social functions.

Our History…


  • 1921- November 14th The Roseland Civic League was formed for the improvement of Roseland. Fee for membership was $1 with meetings once a month. Money was used to clean streets starting at the depot going west.

  • 1922- February 8th, meeting voted to take in the men as associate members. It was voted to contact the power company for electric and light installation.

  • 1923- March 1st, the name of the organization changed from Roseland Civic League to Roseland Women’s Club.

    • Permission was received from Indian River County to construct a building on county land along the Sebastian River, which had been reserved for a park.

  • 1927 - March, The Clubhouse building was started, with the underpinning from the old bridge; many people donated time, money, windows, and screens. Lumber was purchased for $256.57.

  • 1928 - $138.83 paid for further supplies. The building was painted green.

  • 1929 - The building of the clubhouse was completed.

    • A safety marker at the railroad crossing in Roseland was deemed necessary and the Roseland Women's Club financed it by purchasing two $25 bonds.

  • 1929 - The community's very first telephone was installed in the Post Office. The Roseland Women's Club paid the $50 installation charge.

  • 1942- The clubhouse needed repairs to the underpinning and the outhouse. The Women's Club financed these with donations.

    • At each meeting, the war news of the day was discussed with the members working on various Red Cross projects.

  • 1949 - Roseland Women's Club started the area's first library at the clubhouse which remained open until the 1980s when the North Indian River County Library was opened.

    • Roseland Women's Club paid the full cost of $258 for a dock built behind the community building.

  • 1953 - Roof repairs were completed. Kitchen remodeling and the building of a powder room were started.

  • 1957 - February 7, a limit of $2500 for building an addition was passed.

  • 1959 - January 19th, the Indian River County Commissioners designated the Roseland Women's Club as custodians of the Roseland Community Building. This arrangement is still in effect today.

  • 1996 - The building was renovated with A/C and heat.

  • 2015- The Roseland Historical Marker was dedicated on April 22nd by the Indian River Historical Society and the Florida Bureau of Historical Preservation.

  • 2017 - The building was closed for renovation.

    • During closure, the County raised funds, let contracts, and work began.

  • 2020 - 2022 The building was leveled with new piers and joists. A new concrete walkway, parking, and drainage were added; a new roof and new flooring were completed and the entire structure was painted.
